We have a treat in store for curious gardeners this March. For the first time, and exclusively through Secret Gardens, Margaret Long will be hosting two guided botanical tours of her stunning garden Frensham, over consecutive weekends.
The first botanical tour, on 16th March '24, will be aimed at 'beginner' gardeners, while the second tour on 23rd March '24 will be suitable for those who already have a more advanced plant knowledge.
This first session, on 6th March will be suitable for the beginner gardener - those with little or no prior botanical knowledge. In this Masterclass, Margaret will give a comprehensive introduction to names of plants, basic, gardening skills including the placement of plants in the garden, colour choices, considering plants alongside their neighbours, tips for moving
plants and advice for gardeners starting with a blank canvas. Margaret's commentary will encompass perennials, shrubs and trees.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of Canterbury's most experienced and esteemed gardeners - in situ and in person - and to experience this magnificent garden through the eyes of its creator.
Afternoon tea will be provided.
10% of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the charity Garden to Table. a charitable trust that empowers children to grow, harvest, prepare and share great food.
Bookings are exclusively through Secret Gardens and numbers are strictly limited.
