Workshop overview

Welcome to the Secret Garden Club, a brand new initiative designed to bring our garden-loving community together, and connect you with our experienced, knowledgable Secret Gardens hosts. It’s an informal space for learning, sharing stories, and encouraging each other to get out and grow.

For this, our inaugural event, we'll be kick-starting spring with a discussion focussed on creating your most bountiful and beautiful garden yet!

Joining us will be a panel of Secret Garden hosts from across the country—Phoebe from Ngā Kaupeka/Auckland, Tania from Fantail and Flax/Bay of Plenty, and Dave and Raewyn from Willoughbridge/Canterbury. They will share their personal gardening methods and knowledge, offering real-world advice to help your garden thrive.

During this 90-minute live session, we will cover some key topics you'll need to have under your belt to get growing this spring:

·       Seed Raising: Learn the essentials of raising happy, healthy seedlings, from how to 'prick out' and transplant to mastering succession planting for a continuous harvest.

·       Soil Preparation: Our hosts will share their best-kept secrets for preparing garden beds after their winter rest, including their favourite soil boosters.

·       The Power of Pollinators: Discover which native New Zealand plants are buzzing with activity right now and how to create a habitat that encourages a thriving ecosystem in your own backyard.

·       Gentle Pest Patrol: Get simple, organic solutions to a few of the most common spring pest challenges.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have your burning questions answered by fellow passionate gardeners. When you book your ticket, you will be invited to pre-submit your own questions for our panel to discuss.

Ready to grow with us? Secure your spot now for just $10, and join us for this inspiring event. We can't wait to see you there!

What you'll need

This is a live, online event via Zoom - so you'll need access to a computer, and an internet connection :-) Note that attendees' video and mic will be turned off throughout - so you won't be put on the spot!
