Secret Gardens is committed to protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of all our visitors, hosts and their whānau.
Alongside the guidelines under the New Zealand Government Covid-19 Protection Framework, we have undertaken a thorough risk assessment, with participation and input from our hosts. Given that garden visits and workshops are generally held outdoors, in small groups, and environments where social distancing can be maintained, we have concluded that the general level of risk does not currently warrant the mandating of vaccinations as a blanket Secret Gardens policy.
However, in recognition of the fact that everyone’s situation is different, each Secret Gardens host has set their own Covid-19 workplace policy. These policies are based on their assessment of risks as they pertain to them and their family, the types of activities and workshops they will be undertaking, and the current level of risk within their community. Be aware that these policies may include the requirement for visitors to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and/or to wear masks throughout their visit.
Please familiarise yourself with the host’s policy before you make a booking – they are clearly stated on their webpage, under the Covid-19 Policy tab, in the booking information window and in the notifications and booking reminder emails sent to our visitors. Where hosts require visitors to be fully vaccinated, we ask that you respect these policies and be prepared to show your vaccination certificate on request.
Please don’t attend a garden visit or workshop if you are feeling unwell or have cold/flu symptoms. Get in touch and we can change your booking or provide you with a refund.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and we will review our policy as the situation develops and as the New Zealand Government provides further guidance.
We are mindful that these are unusual and challenging times for many, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss any concerns you may have.
